He was predeceased by: his parents, Leopoldo Maldonado and Manuela Cadena; his daughter Christina Maldonado Huerta; and his siblings, Manuel, Epimenio, Jesus "Chuy" Maldonado, Helen Moreno, Ofelia Arellano, Lucinda Kirker and Esther Knagge.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Gloria Maldonado; his children, Rudy Maldonado (Angela) of Silver City and Denise Maldonado (Eddie Carbajal) of Silver City; his grandchildren, Richard Ferrell (Skye), Amber Ferrell (Anthony), Steven Huerta (Cassandra), Jeremy Huerta, Alayna Maldonado and Reina Torres; and his sister Mary Ann Maldonado Montoya of Ponca City, OK. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
