She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl Burgess and Lilly Mae Burgess; and her sisters, Jenny Hickson, Edith Jackson and Wilma "Jean" Tapscott.
She is survived by: her husband Walter W. Mitchell Jr. of Silver City; her children, Darla Baker (Mickey) of Butler, OK, Dennis Mitchell (Kim) of Alto, NM, Brenda Burton (Mark) of Clinton, OK and Brad Mitchell (Tracey) of Santa Fe, NM; and her brother Jerry Burgess (Carol) of Lake Wales, FL. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, eight great grandchildren.
