He is survived by: his mother Mary Ferns of Virginia; his wife Mary Isabel; his children, Brian Ferns (Erica), Elaine Lopez (Robert) and Amy Ferns-Vigil (Gabe); and his grandchildren, Eli, Eliana, Ava, Elicia and Gabriel. He is also survived by his brother, sisters, brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, and many nieces and nephews.
