Cosme M. Chavez Obituary
Cosme M. Chavez, 68, passed away on January 25, 2022 in Santa Fe, NM. His parents are Juana Chavez and Francisco Chavez. He married Rita Chavez, the love of his life.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Juana Chavez and Francisco Chavez, sister Virginia Chavez; brothers; Ramon, Andres, Paz, Manuel and his twin brother Damian Chavez.
He is survived by his wife; Rita Chavez, daughter; Elizabeth Chavez (Alex, children Isabelle, Kayleen and Allison), sons; Daniel Chavez and Luis Bencomo (Cecilia, children Audrey, Sophia, and Ryan), sisters; Margarita Moreno (Jesus) and Lazara Chavez, brothers; Alberto Chavez (Rosa) and Federico Chavez (Nora).
Cosme was a lifelong professional plumber and an avid fisherman. There was not a stream, river or lake he did not like. One could always find him at Cochiti Lake. Cosme played the guitar, he loved music and loved to dance - but he was best known for his chile con queso. Cosme treasured his big family; 3 children, 6 grandchildren, 10 siblings and a loving wife. He loved his children; Elizabeth, Daniel and Louis but he adored his grandchildren; Allison, Kayleen, Isabelle, Audrey, Sophia & Ryan. He always had a smile and a greeting for everyone he encountered whether fishing or at the casino. He was loved and taken care of by his loving wife Rita. They were married for 43 years. Cosme lived a good life and he will be missed.
Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, February 4, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at San Isidro Catholic Church. Viewing will be Friday, February 4, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Rivera Kiva Chapel of Light located at 417 E. Rodeo Road, Santa Fe.
