He was predeceased by: his parents, Hilario Chavez and Ignacia Moreno Chavez; and his brother Richard Chavez. He is survived by: his wife Idalia "Dolly" Chavez; his children, Andy Alejandro Chavez of Hanover, Dustin Medina of Safford, AZ, Audrey Chavez of Hurley and Diane Chavez of Bayard; his grandchildren, Erin, Alyssia, Delilah, Angelena, Mary Jane, Jocelyn, Zriah and Caden; and his aunt Juanita Escobar of Silver City. He is also survived by three sisters.
