He was predeceased by: his parents, Raphael Martinez and Flora Martinez (Gutierrez); his siblings, Concepcion Martinez and Ernestina Martinez; and his son-in-law Abraham Ortiz.

He is survived by: his wife Ernestina "Tina" Martinez (Beltran); his daughters, Tessie Silva (Rick) of Silver City, NM and Eva Ortiz of Las Cruces, NM; and his siblings, Nellie Frey of El Paso, TX, Esther Pedroza of Tucson, AZ, Ralph Martinez of Prescott, AZ and Lily of Indio, CA. He is also survived by his five grandchildren; his 10 great-grandchildren; his three great-great-grandchildren; his numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 23rd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Santa Clara Catholic Church. A rosary will be held on Thursday, January 23rd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, January 23rd 2025 at 11:30 AM at the Fort Bayard National Cemetery (200 Cam De Paz, Fort Bayard, NM 88036). The military honors will be held on Thursday, January 23rd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
