He was predeceased by: his parents, Genaro Benavidez and Margarita Benavidez; and his sisters, Ernestine Ortiz and Mabel Flores. He is survived by: his wife Marcella Benavidez; his daughters, Mary Benavidez (Daniel), Theresa Padilla (Joe), Miranda Rivera (Sydney) and Leandra Benavidez (Darren); his nephew Ralph Ortiz; his grandchildren, Angelica Marquez, Alyssa Benavidez (Ralph), Xavier Padilla and Jodaiah Padilla (Unica); his great grandchildren, Kryslynn Gonzalez and Lucas Romero; his godchildren, Joe Padilla, Patrick Martinez, Jr., Julian Flores, Jodaiah Padilla and Leandra Benavidez; his siblings, Carol Lopez, Cecilia (Jimmy), Jerry Benavidez (Linda) and Ramon Benavidez (Amanda); and his siblings-in-law, Gene Romero and Lucille Salazar.
