He was predeceased by: his parents, Olaf Tisthammer and Ester Tisthammer (Fischer); his sister Jackie Wiese; his son Jacob Tisthammer; and his former wife Elvira Chavez.
He is survived by: his wife Gail Dement; his sons, Aaron Tisthammer of Portales and David Tisthammer of Las Cruces; his stepchildren, Steven Dement (Sassha) of Farwell, TX, Ashley Wyatt of Portales, Chelsey Chenault (Chance) of Clovis and Carley Bollema (Richard) of Texico, NM; his granddaughter Davina Tisthammer; and his siblings, Scott Tisthammer (Lisa) of Boise, ID, Andy Tisthammer (Deb) of Laurel, NE, Mike Tisthammer (Marilyn) of Columbus, NE, Alvin Tisthammer of Newman Grove, NE and Lorraine Austin (Dan) of Columbus, NE.. He is also survived by 12 step-grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
