It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Maria Raquel Platt (Roswell, New Mexico), who passed away on November 27, 2023, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Salvador Cabrales and Rebecca Herrera; her husband Kenneth Platt; and her siblings, Rita Chaidez, Anita Barraza, Blanca Cabrales, Cuca Cabrales, Juan Angel Cabrales, Miguel Cabrales and Chava Cabrales.
She is survived by: her grandson John Paul; her daughter Lorraine Platt (Michael Berry); her grandson Kenneth Velarde of Dexter, NM; her siblings, Lupe Cabrales (Lucila) of El Encinal, Reyna Chaidez (Magdaleno) of Roswell, NM and Alicia Avila of Dallas, TX; and her caregivers, Lety Hernandez and Raquel.
