He was predeceased by: his son Jamie Waide; his mother Janie Waide; his sisters, Connie Waide Allen and Sylvia Waide Allen; and his brothers-in-law, Henry Allen and John McCallum.

He is survived by: his wife Claudia Phillips; his children, Craig (Kristin), Heidi (Jim) and Chad; his grandchildren, Mamie McKee (Ethan), Maggie Brown, Holden Waide (Nani), Mack Brown, Noah Waide, Monte Brown, Joe Waide, Jack Waide, Kate Waide, Sam Waide and Chelsea Henderson (Conrad); his siblings, Loretta Armstrong and Larry Deen (Karen); and his siblings-in-law, Ronnie Phillips (Gretchen), Joanne MacCallum, Rissie Daubert (Mitch), Meg Tidmore (Ron) and Ardist Allen. He is also survived by mother-in-law and numerous extended family.

His contributions to his community include churches, schools, homes, businesses, government buildings and public areas.
