He was predeceased by: his parents, Con Gilliland and Vella Mae Gilliland; his wife Reva Jean Reed; his brothers, Johnny Gilliland and Bill Gilliland; and his parents-in-law, Richard and Blanche Reed.
He is survived by: his sister Lauretta Garrison of Guymon, OK; his children, Mike Gilliland (Catherine) of Lubbock, TX, Brenda Smith (Bill) of Wichita Falls, TX and Richard Gilliland (Melissa) of Roswell, NM.; his grandchildren, Jana Jensen (Casey), Caitlan Gilliland (Caroline), Michael Gilliland, Rebecca Loudermilk (Colton), A. J. Smith (Sarah), Allen Gilliland (Mariah), Lisa Webb (Brady) and Krista Hawkins (Blake); and his great grandchildren, Tyler, Cason, Jack Jensen, Asher, Kleat, Andi Webb, Ruah Smith, Ada Loudermilk and Greta Gilliland.
Visitation was held on Thursday, February 6th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the LaGrone Funeral Chapel (900 S Main St, Roswell, NM 88203). A funeral service was held on Friday, February 7th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church (200 N Pennsylvania Ave, Roswell, NM 88201). A burial was held on Friday, February 7th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the South Park Cemetery (3101 S Main St, Roswell, NM 88203).
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations may be made to the Assurance Home of Roswell, the Cowboy Bell Scholarship fund at First United Methodist Church, or to a charity of your choice.
