We are sad to announce that on October 14, 2019, at the age of 91, Magdalena Barela (Raton, New Mexico), born in La Junta, Colorado passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Catarino Mata and Aurelia Mata (Guerrero); her spouse Catarino Barela, Sr.; her son Cruz Barlea; her siblings, Ramona Garcia, Sabino and Concepcion Mata; and her great great grandchild Kylena Rose Marquez.
She is survived by: her children, Mary Otero (Bill) of La Junta, Cathy Otero (Rudy) of La Junta, Catarino Barela, Jr. of La Junta, Frank Barela (Michelle) of La Junta, Frances Lopez (Daniel) of La Junta, Gloria Carrillo (Cesar) of La Junta and Linda Valverde (Nick) of Yuma, AZ. She is also survived by 23 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and one great, great-grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.
