He was predeceased by: his parents, Juan Mares and Lydia Mares; his siblings, Henry Mares, Benny Mares, Francis Martinez and Corina Garcia; and his grandsons, Nathaniel Mares and Daniel Mares.
He is survived by: his wife Rose Mares; his children, Jerry (Cindy), Dennis (Debbie), Isaac, Henry (Lisa), Leonard (Teresa), Matthew (Brenda) and Camilann Baca; and his siblings, Pearl Espinoza, Jenny Solis, Ruth Young and Herman Mares (Virginia). He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
