It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shirley Elizabeth Broad of Portales, New Mexico, born in Oneill, Nebraska, who passed away on March 9, 2024, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Martha Storjohann and Fred Johring; her husband Kenneth Broad; her granddaughter Kendra; her pet Speck; her children, Dallas Broad (Amy Carr) of Albuquerque, Douglas Broad (Karen) of Columbus, IN and Kendra Land (Jody) of Clovis; her grandchildren, Kiley Broad (Laura) of Columbus, IN, Kara Broad of Tallula, IL, Olivia Land of Pecos, TX and Micah Land of Iowa City, IA; and her great grandchild Ava Jo of Tallula, IL.. She was also cherished by parents, sister, and brothers, a host of dear friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Shirley's memory to her nephew Craig Johring's outreach mission, Hope of the Poor, which serves the poor and shares the Gospel in Mexico City.
