He was predeceased by: his parents, Garland Shirley and Christina Shirley; his brother Jim Shirley; his son Austin Hall; his brother-in-law Herschel Nixon; and his parents-in-law, Alford and Ola Mae Nixon.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Nixon; his children, Rhonda (Vernie Davis) and Shane (Hilary Shirley); and his daughter-in-law Laurie (Larry Hall). He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Floyd Baptist Church.
