It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Jane Simon of Portales, New Mexico, who passed away on December 16, 2024, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. Though Mary Jane has departed this earthly realm, her legacy endures — a legacy of love that will continue to illuminate the lives of family and friends in the darkest of hours. May her spirit soar on wings of eternal peace, forever cherished in the tender embrace of memory.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Herman Bendele and Nellie Bendele. She is survived by: her husband William Simon (Bill); her children, Marylee Simon-Rodgers of Amarillo, TX, Bill Simon (Wynn) of Junction, TX and Rod Simon (Debra) of San Francisco, CA; her grandchild Taryn Rodgers Usher (Josh); her great grandchildren, Tenlee Jane and Stetson Usher of Waco, TX; her grandchildren, Ashliegh Simon of San Angelo, TX and Aaron Simon (Isabel) of Muleshoe, TX.; and her brother Loyd Bendele of Juno, TX. She is also survived by numerous extended family members and friends.
A graveside service was held on Saturday, December 21st 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Portales Cemetery (1600 E 3rd St, Portales, NM 88130).
