She was predeceased by: her parents, Jesus Abeyta and Dulcinea Abeyta; her husbands, David Uher and Robert Wirt; her son John Uher; and her brothers, Eddie Abeyta of Vaughn, NM. and Leandro Abeyta of Vaughn, NM..
She is survived by: her children, Joan Pfeiffer of Valencia, Jason Uher (Donna) of Wichita, KS, Jerome Uher of Alexandria, VA and Jacob Uher of Valencia. She is also survived by four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
In 1996, Josie was recognized for her community service with an award from President George H.W. Bush's Points of Light Foundation at a ceremony in Washington, DC.
