He was predeceased by: his parents, Jose Manuel Otero and Maria Armijo Otero; his daughter Patricia Yolanda Otero; his great grandchildren, Michael Ray Montiel and Tristan Chavez; and his brother Eduardo Otero.
He is survived by: his wife Filomena B. Otero; his children, Leon Otero (Joan), Kathy Otero, Ana Otero, Maria Otero and Mark Otero; his sisters, Peggy Otero and Juanita Sanchez; and his grandchildren, Andrea Otero, Jose Otero (Veronica), Manuel Otero (Jade), Antonio Otero (Julia), Monica Otero (Joseph), Raquel Waters (David), Claudio Chavez (Sara), Juan Chavez (Lorena), Andres Chavez (Loren), Olivia Montoya, Ross Otero, Sabine Otero, Patricia Otero, Patricia Camacho (Victor) and David Waters. He is also survived by 25 great grandchildren, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
