He was predeceased by: his wife Janie Schmidt; his parents, Simon Schmidt and Selma Schmidt; and his brother Ross Schmidt. He is survived by: his children, Eric Schmidt (Brenda) and Eileen Kempf (Herb); and his grandchildren, Josh and Grace Kempf.
