He was predeceased by: his daughter Maria Celestina Varela (Tina); his parents, Marcos Varela and Cruzita Martinez-Varela; his siblings, Connie Valencia, Tino Varela, Jackie Varela and Marcos Varela Jr.; and his grandparents, Francisco, Luz Varela, Eliseo and Nicolasita Martinez.
He is survived by: his girlfriend Angie Ortiz; his granddaughter Alyssa Roybal; and his siblings, Tonie Quintana (Fidel), Bobby Varela (Bertha), Sophie Bowles and Lydia Mares. He is also survived by his loving nieces and nephews.
