It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bernardina Valdez-Gurule of Ojo Caliente, New Mexico, who passed away on February 22, 2021, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was loved and cherished by many people including: her husband Gilbert Gurule; her parents, Eliazar Valdez and Bernadina Martinez; her stepmother Rosa Valdez; her siblings, Elivie Valdez, Rudy Valdez, Eddie Barela and Elizabeth Lobato; her parents-in-law, Estevan Gurule and Manuelita Gurule; her children, Peggy Gurule and Edward Gurule; her grandson Carlos Gurule; her children, Silver Gurule (Barbara) of Cochiti, NM, Ernest Gurule (Gail) of Ojo Caliente and Caroline Gurule of Ojo Caliente; her siblings, Arturo Amos Valdez, Anastacio Valdez (Marcella), Martha Savala, Dolores Valdez and Consuleo Valdez (Alex); and her siblings-in-law, Estevan Gurule, Jr., Orlando Gurule (Ruth), Benjamin Gurule (Emma) and Pearl Garcia (Ed). She was also cherished by 16 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great grandchildren.
