It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Matthew Reece Montano (Moriarty, New Mexico), born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, who passed away on December 26, 2024, at the age of 17, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his close friend Michael Salazar; and his godparents, Orlando and Angie Gutierrez. He is survived by: his cousin Jesse; his parents, Pete Montano Jr. (Paw-Paw) and Shawna Wilcox; his siblings, Alessandra Talache, Luciano and Ambrosio Montano; and his grandparents, Pete, Bernice Montano, Don Reece and Carol Lowe (John Lowe). He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church (215 Girard Ave, Moriarty, NM 87035). A Mass was held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
