He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Sr. Shanfeldt and Alice Shanfeldt; his wife Margaret Shanfeldt; and his siblings, Lt. Joseph Jr. Shanfeldt (Sara) and Elizabeth Shanfeldt.
He is survived by: his daughter Patrice Barstow-Kelly; his grandson Nicklaus Gauthier; his nephew Robert Shanfeldt (Rachel); and his great-nephews, Matthew Shanfeldt (Kristie) and Jeffery Shanfeldt (Mary).
A rosary was held on Thursday, January 2nd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church (215 Girard Ave, Moriarty, NM 87035). A Mass was held on Thursday, January 2nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A reception was held on Thursday, January 2nd 2025 at 12:15 PM at the Our Lady of Mt Carmel Catholic Church (215 Girard Ave, Moriarty, NM 87035).
