He was predeceased by: his brothers, George Montoya (Mary) of Tortugas and Andres Montoya (Adelita) of Mesilla; his wife Lily Helen Montoya; his son Alberto III; his parents, Alberto Montoya and Margarita Montoya; his siblings, Felix Montoya, Eugene Montoya (Heno), Isabel Salcido (Chavela), Inez Hernandez (Nay) and Josefa Morales (Pepa); and his cousin Reyes Montoya.
He is survived by: his grandchildren, Josh Zepeda (Maria), Omar Montoya (Trista) and Matthew Montoya Jeremy (Stacey); his great grandchildren, Joseph, Elijah, Ian, Angelyna, Mason, Corby, Matyson, Jonah, Judah, Aiden, Autumn and Adelynn Montoya; his sisters, Josephina Estrada (Fina) of Tortugas and Delfina Naranjo (Delfie) of Silver City; his niece Margaret Cockette Romero; and his grandchildren, Nick Zepeda, Mathew Montoya and Zack Gonzales.
