She is survived by: her children, Emerson Shanta, Dannalyn Blake, Regena Pinto and Dylan Blake; and her siblings, Norena Whitebird, Dara Shanta, Linda Carrillo, Loretta Shanta, Asa Shanta, Jr. and Carl Buurma. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
