Though Sammy Martinez may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Sammy Martinez touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Fidel Rodriguez and Ernestina Rodriguez; and his wife Dominga Rodriguez. He is survived by: his children, Sammy Rodriguez Jr., Janie (Jose Garcia) and Christina (Yunven Martinez). He is also survived by four brothers and two sisters; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, April 14th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM at the Kirby-Ratliff Funeral Home (1106 N Main St, Lovington, NM 88260). A rosary was held on Monday, April 14th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 15th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Thomas Catholic Church (1301 N 9th St, Lovington, NM 88260). A burial will be held on Tuesday, April 15th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Lovington Cemetery (600 W Gum Ave, Lovington, NM 88260).
