He was predeceased by: his parents, Cruz Ornelas and Angelita Ornelas; his brothers, Alberto Ornelas, David Ornelas (Viviana), Mike Ornelas and Cruz Ornelas, Jr.; his brother-in-law Jack Molina; and his sisters, Lucia Navarette (Juan) and Ysabel Vasquez (Lupe).
He is survived by: his wife Norma Leyva Ornelas of Carlsbad; his daughters, Shayanne Leyva Limon (Francisco Michael Limon) and Mariah Ornelas Magana (Hector Magana Bazan); his grandchildren, Francisco Q. Limon, Isaiah Limon, Emilio-Rey Ornelas Limon, Isidra Isabel Limon, Marivel Norma Ornelas Magana, Mariella Ornelas Magana, Hector Ornelas Magana, III and Helena Ornelas Magana; his sisters, Marylou Murillo (Victor), Angie Ramirez (David), Chris Johnson (George), Gloria Ornelas, Sally Estrada (Pete), Rosa Molina and Linda Vasquez (Charlie); and his sister-in-law Mary Ornelas. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
