He is survived by: his son Matthew Chavira; his parents, Lawrence Barela and Edna Barela; his siblings, Amy Barela, Joey Barela (Tabitha) and Brian Barela (Victoria); his friend Rose Gonzales; his nephews, Lawrence (Maddy), Cameron, Gavin, Gabriel, Uriah and Ty; and his great-niece Queta Ann. He is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.
