She was predeceased by: her husband Raymond Otero; her son Carlos Otero; her parents, Elias Chavez and Felis Rael Chavez; and her siblings, Wences Chavez, Armida Otero, Merlinda Perea, Eddie, Edwin and Elmer Chavez.
She is survived by: her children, Emilio Otero (Violet), Theresa Murray (Don), Prescilla DiPaola (Don) and Richard Otero (Nick Zimmer); her sister-in-law Vicky Otero; her sisters, Clarita Lopez, Mabel Pena, Reina Garley, Bernie Beatty and Laura Padilla; and her brothers-in-law, Paul Beatty and Marco Morales. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
