He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Emil O. Kiehne and Beverly Kiehne; his wife Cherie Kiehne of Silver City; his son Emil J. Kiehne (Laurie); his grandsons, Max Edward and Daniel of Los Lunas; his son Shawn Kiehne (Ada); his grandchildren, Brett of Los Lunas, Tyler of Los Lunas and Kamila of Los Lunas; his daughter Kristin Armstrong of Baltimore, Maryland.; his brothers, Arkie (Kathleen Kiehne), Jim (Bonnie Kiehne) and Gary (Julie Kiehne); and his brothers-in-law, John H and Jim Reynolds (Tricia Reynolds) of Silver City, N. M.. He was also cherished by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Max's name to Canon Christian Academy and The Citadel, in care of Calvary Chapel Rio Grande Valley.
