He was predeceased by: his son Nathaniel Gurule; his father Jose Gurule; his father-in-law Arthur Lovato; and his grandparents, Osbar, Emma Gurule, Charles and Mary Meadows.

He is survived by: his pets, Pippin, Ariel and Neville Longbottom; his wife Adela Gurule; his daughter Zaida Gurule; his mother Loretta Gurule; his mother-in-law Florence Lovato; his brother Keith Gurule; his sisters-in-law, Anita Lozano (Chris Lozano) and Alberta Lovato; and his nieces and nephews, Isaac, Patricia (Anthony), Patrick, Santiago, Trinity, Izabella, Amris and Brendan.
