He was predeceased by: his wife Marie Chavez; his mother Angelina Gonzales Chavez; his daughter Angela Chavez; his brother Marty Chavez; and his father-in-law Agustin Somera.
He is survived by: his father Trinidad Chavez; his children, Joseph Chavez, Daniel Chavez (Amanda) and Valerie Linton (Jordan); his grandchildren, Scarlett, Emma, Abigail Chavez and Logan Linton; his siblings, Annie Lucero, Dorothy Dominguez and Greg Chavez; his mother-in-law Aurora Somera; and his sisters-in-law, Patsy Torres (Daniel "Hippie"), Dora Armijo (Michael) and Lorie Vigil. He is also survived by many uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces and many family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Romero Funeral Home Chapel (609 N Main St, Belen, NM 87002). A rosary will be held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 at 11:30 AM at the same location. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 at the same location.
