It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jim D. Higgins of Los Alamos, New Mexico, born in Dallas, Texas, who passed away on May 25, 2023, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his mother Winnie Higgins; his wife Elizabeth; and his daughter Claire. He is survived by: his daughter Nancy Phipps (Shane) of Carlsbad; his grandchildren, Katie Bilberry of Artesia, Megan Valdez (Antonio) of Albuquerque and Ross Jacob Harmeson of Carlsbad; his great grandchildren, Jase, Gage Bilberry, Anastasia and Griffin Valdez; and his son Blaine.
