It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Nieves Carrillo Barrio of Lordsburg, New Mexico, who passed away on December 1, 2024, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Vicente Carrillo and Jacinta Jasso Carrillo; and her husband Eugenio "Chumbo" Barrio. She is survived by: her children, Margaret Belanger of Las Cruces, Maria Newell (George) of Lordsburg, Jose A. Barrio (Frances) of Lordsburg, Oscar Barrio (Robyn) of Morenci, AZ and Diana Gandara (Ronnie) of Glendale, AZ. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, December 12th 2024 at 9:00 AM at the St. Joseph's Catholic Church (416 E 2nd St, Lordsburg, NM 88045). A rosary was held on Thursday, December 12th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
