He was predeceased by: his father Dan Barela; his grandparents, Enrique, Sotera Gomez, Cresenciano Barela and Eduvijen Trujillo; his siblings, Gloria Marquez, Sandra Barela and Chris Barela; and his granddaughter Alexis Barela.
He is survived by: his mother Teresa Barela; his children, Mark Barela (Adelle) of Las Vegas, NM, Jacob Sanchez (Bridget) of Las Vegas, NM and Sarah Barela (Christopher) of Las Vegas, NM; his grandchildren, Arianna, Marcus, Aleigha, Janessa, Shania, Eleanor, Fabian, Marivell, Infinity and Destine; the mother of his children Judy Sanchez of Las Vegas, NM; his sister Brenda Esquibel (James) of Amarillo, TX; his nieces and nephews, Theodore, Leonard (Peggy), James (Crystal), Daniel, Melissa (Joshua), Jessica (Johnny) and Jennifer; his aunts and uncles, Mary Alirez, Isabel Lucero (Epifanio), Arturo Gomez, Willie Gomez (Carmen), Salomon Gomez (Rebecca), Manuel Barela (Flora) and Sam Barela (Melva); and his grandsons, Donald Gallegos, John Pacheco and Henry Rosas. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many many friends.
