He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Poitras and Yvonne Poitras; his daughter Simone; and his siblings, Arlene, Jeanette, Mary May, Olivine, Joan and Norman.

He is survived by: his wife Marilyn of Hillsboro; his daughter Deborah Roberts (Bob); and his siblings, Kenneth, Roger and Rose. He is also survived by four grandsons; six great grandchildren.
