He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, William Smith and Myrta Smith; his wife Rita Tessmer; his children, Dr. Michael B. Smith (Robyn) of Houston, Karen O'Brien (Tom) of Las Cruces, Benita Billingsley (Scott) of Albuquerque and David B. Smith (Mai) of New Ulm, Texas.; and his sisters, Mildred Brown and Helen Taylor. He was also cherished by two grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
