He is survived by: his wife Janie Aguilera Cortez; his children, Alma Rodriguez (Ray) of Las Cruces, Manuel L. Cortez III (Jennifer) of Las Cruces and Carlos J. Cortez of Washington, D. C.; his grandchildren, Isabel Gonzales, Aiden Bauer, Penelope Cortez, Manuel Cortez IV, Kiyoshi Cortez, Adrianna Rodriguez, Carissa Rodriguez, Alexander Rodriguez and Mika Chavez; and his brother Baudelio Cortez (Aurora). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, extended family, friends.
