He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Gayle Guaderrama; his children, Lauro Guaderrama Jr. and Yolanda Alexander; his stepdaughter Catherine Sheets; and his children, Alexis Sheets, Madelynn Sheets and Steven Alexander. He was also cherished by nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Mesilla Valley Hospice.
