It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Hershel Martin of Las Cruces, New Mexico, born in Logan, New Mexico, who passed away on February 22, 2025, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew Martin and Opal Martin; his former wife Beverly Kirk Wiese; his wife Mary Lou Martin; his grandson Tommy Littell; his siblings, Julian "Sonny" Martin and Katherine Davis; and his son-in-law Bobby Decker.
He is survived by: his children, Lonnie Martin (Diana) of Albuquerque, NM, Debra Decker of Tucumcari, NM, Terry Martin of Los Angeles, CA, Karen Rogers (Ronnie) of Lipan, TX, Hershel "Doc" Martin Jr. of Phoenix, AZ and Sandy Ceniceros (Tom) of Las Cruces, NM.; and his brothers, Marvin Martin and Bobby Martin (Sue). He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Viewing will be held on Saturday, March 8th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Melrose Cemetery. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 8th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Melrose Cemetery E Center.
