He was predeceased by: his parents, James Christopher Oberst and Ruby Euphemia Gary; his wife Wendy Anne; and his grandson Andrew. He is survived by: his children, Wendy Oberst (LaMone), Lesia Johnston, Danelle Oberst (Mays), Asa Oberst and Jon J. Oberst Jr.; his grandchildren, Zackary, Ashley, Nathan, Elizabeth, Aurelia, Nicholus and Braedin; his great grandchildren, Maxine, Lilli Anna and Waylon; and his siblings, James Oberst, Linda, Susan and Dianne.
