He was predeceased by: his former wife Geraldine; his daughters, Janice Quigley and Diane Patterson; and his siblings, Ann, John and George.
He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth "Betty"; his children, Mark Yakel (Janell) and Dale Yakel (Sally); his grandchildren, Jessica, Tracey, Matthew, Melissa, Cloe, Cole, Chris and Tyler; and his great grandchildren, Owen, Tenzin, Nathaniel and Hezekiah.
