He is survived by: his son Lathan Dean Ty Bates; his parents, Randy Bates and Deanna Fleck; his stepfather Paul Skaggs; his siblings, Dakota, Joshua (Jadelyn Bates), Brandon Rush, Derek (Brandi Wilson) and Tamera Bates; and his wife Kaci Bates. He is also survived by three nephews and one niece.
