Joyce left this world on January 29, 2025 at the age of 78, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. She is survived by: her husband Ricky Hatley; her children, Todd Layman (Julie), Kristi Mathews (Doug) and Lori Robinson (John); her grandchildren, Brandon, Miranda, Kelsie, Shawn and Dylan; her great grandchildren, Jace, Cooper, Carter, Ariyaa, Ayda and Bryson; her siblings, Bobby Wooley (Janna), Joe Wooley (Dora) and Jayne Shawley (Dave); her aunt Dade; her uncle Monk Stewart of Rienzi, MS.; and her former husband Charles Layman. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, February 4th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Chapel of Hope Funerals & Cremations (3321 N Dal Paso St, Hobbs, NM 88240). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, February 5th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Bethel Baptist Church (12129 N Denver City Hwy, Hobbs, NM 88242).
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Bethel Baptist Church for the Samaritan's Purse Christmas shoe box ministry.
