We are sad to announce that on March 17, 2025, at the age of 79, Jerry Thomas Burkett of Hobbs, New Mexico passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though his name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint Jerry Thomas leaves upon the hearts of his loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of his spirit and the richness of his legacy.
He was predeceased by: his father Rusty Burkett (Delores Burkett); and his brother Ray Burkett. He is survived by: his wife Tina Burkett of Hobbs; his children, Mike Burkett (Donna) of Lubbock, Missi Burkett (Kip) of Lamesa, Jonathan Burkett (Nikki) of Hurst, Kimberly Kimbro (Tim) of Smithville, Lupe Rivas (Jennifer) of Hobbs and Tommy Rivas of Hobbs; and his sister Anne Burkett of Lohn. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
A graveside service was held on Tuesday, March 18th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Dawson County Cemetery (1010 County Rd 20, Lamesa, TX 79331).
