He was predeceased by: his wife Belin Ortega; and his siblings, Elias, Rito, Geneva, Elfida, Felipa, Manuela, Magarito, Eutiquio and Ismael.
He is survived by: his children, Robert Rascon (Lupe), Ortega, Jr., Chriselda Love, Deborah Aranda (Efren), Patricia Rowley-Dâ and Angela Pinon (David); and his sisters, Maria Santos Garza and Linda Benavidez. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, and 30 great grandchildren.
