She was predeceased by: her former husband Charles Byrd Sr.; her son Charles Byrd, Jr.; her parents, Fred Clark and Rose Clark; and her siblings, Dee Clark, Jill Budrow, Chuck Clark and Allen Clark.

She is survived by: her husband Joseph Whitaker; her daughters, Dottie Phillip and Marie Melder (T. J.); her grandchildren, Kelly Willis (Jennifer) and John Charles Allen Willis (Christy); and her siblings, Danny Clark (Sandy), Penny Findley and Della Burt (Bob). She is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren.
