He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Roy Milton Kirk and Elizabeth Faye Coleman; his grandparents, John and Cordelia Coleman; his wife Rebecca Kirk; his daughter Tela Avila (Joseph); his grandchildren, Zachariah, Fontella and Faith; his siblings, John Kirk (Linda), Frances Horton (Jim), Carolyn Layman (Don) and Terri Blandin (James); his aunt Mildred Wier; and his uncle Lewis Coleman (Karla). He was also cherished by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
