With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Anita Acosta (Hobbs, New Mexico), who passed away on February 2, 2025 at the age of 73. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Carlos Lujan Acosta; her parents, Remigio Barbosa and Louisa Barbosa; and her siblings, Robert Barbosa, Remigio Barbosa Jr. (Raymond) and Rosa Castillo.
She is survived by: her children, Carlos Acosta of Hobbs and Amanda Acosta of Lubbock; her grandsons, Noah Garcia and Jonah Acosta-Frausto; and her siblings, Linda Bernal of Lubbock, Texas, Ida Sanchez (Juan) of San Antonio, Texas, Norma Barbosa of Lubbock, Texas, Zaragoza Barbosa (Carol) of Round Rock, Texas, Benjamin Barbosa (Olivia) of Lubbock, Texas, Fernando Barbosa (Dianne) of Pflugerville, Texas and Ramiro Barbosa of Lubbock, Texas.. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A rosary was held on Thursday, February 13th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Chapel of Hope Funerals & Cremations (3321 N Dal Paso St, Hobbs, NM 88240). A Mass was held on Thursday, February 13th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the St. Helena Catholic Church (100 E Bender Blvd, Hobbs, NM 88240). A burial was held on Thursday, February 13th 2025 from 3:15 PM to 4:15 PM at the Prairie Haven Memorial Park Cemetery (2201 E Stanolind Rd, Hobbs, NM 88240).
