He was predeceased by: his mother Bernabe Perez; and his brother Juan Gonzalez. He is survived by: his wife Rachel Varela; his siblings, Luisa Lerma and Armando Gonzalez; his sons, Brandon (Briana Varela), Jonathan Varela and Dominic Varela; and his grandsons, Brandon Varela and Matthew Varela.
